Pilates, what is it?
Nearly everyone today is trying to attain a state of relaxation, well-being and personal fitness, but not many people know about the Pilates method and its integrated(holistic), gentle but so very effective approach.
Joseph Hubertus Pilates (1883-1967) was multi-talented and his area of expertise was movement. At the beginning of the 20th century, he developed his very own method „Contrology“, today named Pilates. The Pilates method comprises over 500 exercises and around one tenth of those are used for mat-training. The principles of the modern Pilates are: breathing, neutral spine, concentration, control, centredness, precision and flowing movement. The training has been adapted to modern needs and develops in equal measure your strength, flexibility, balance, concentration, vitality and a healthy posture. Concentrated breathing, focused training and relaxed living!
Is Pilates appropriate for you?
The Pilates method is appropiate for prevention,i.e. to prevent postural problems through incorrect use of the body, as well as rehabilitation. It works as a personal workout at the same time helping with stress relief and creating a new body awareness.
What is awaiting you at a mat-training session?
The mat sessions are restricted to 8 participants and are divided into beginner, medium and advanced variations. Thereby you will always receive the training appropriate for your body- you will not have to wait long to notice your progress! During the mat-training you will be working with the small apparatus such as the pilates ring, the foam roll, an elastic band and a small ball.
What is awaiting you at an equipment training?
If you like it to be even more personalized and more intense and wish to advance faster, e.g. if you are an athlete and want to correct disbalances, work on specific body parts, or as a golfer to improve you swing, then I will train with you with the current Pilates equipment.
Should you book a single or partner equipment training session: Every training unit will be lead by me and personalized for your level of fitness and movement.
These apparatus were developed by Mr Pilates himself and are called „Reformer“, „Wunda Chair“, „Trapeze Table“, „Ladder Barrel“ or „Spine Corrector“, whereby the first 3 work with different spring strengths and work with flexible resistance, which is matched to your personal training level to develop you individually.
